Yes, i went on 3 cruises from 1997-1999. I travelled with Thomas Cook & each time we had our own Egyptologist & tour guide, & they were really good. In fact the whole holiday was wonderful, & i’d always travel with T/C, they really looked after us well.

When you come here just give me a nudge . I have a list of 75 specialized Egyptologist in my phone book talking different languages and some of them prepare master degrees or PHDs
You can choose one of them to accompany you during the Nile cruise
PS : i am serious … i can provide this … just drop me a line when you book your tickets 🙂

Yes, I did a Nile cruise and it was fantastic – took in 10 included tours with excellent tour guide – an Egyptologist, young man just finished university.

I was never interested in history, but he got me hooked he knew everything about everything.

The tours included valley of the kings, Hatsepshuts temple, Kom Ombo, Karnak temple, Luxor temple, Philae temple,
    Lake Nasser………………

There was a 5 day add on in Luxor, with options to fly or take the train to Cairo to to see the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. Also another optional trip to Hurghada to go diving or take a boat trip………

I think we went with http://www.discoveregypt.com. It wasn’t a 5 star, i think 3 star but excellent and didn’t have to dress too formally for dinner – it was too hot anyway. There was evening entertainment – very good I can well recommend.
If I remember rightly, the ship was called Viking (either I, II, or III) I’m not sure which we were on but it was much of a muchness as it seems. Price was £499 with the add on few days.
