It is required but you can get it at the airport.

If you are going directly to Sharm and are going to stay in it, you do not need a visa. But you will not be able to make trips to Luxor or Cairo to visit the pyramids and the museum.

In any case your passport must be valid for 6 months starting the date of arrival.

You will be able to obtain a visa on arrival at the airport. It costs about 20 USD.

It depends on how long you want to stay and where you want to stay.

For a stay of up to 15 days visa are issued free of charge for Canadian citizens entering Egypt via South Sinai (through Sharm El Sheik, Saint Catherine or Taba airports), provided remaining in South Sinai resorts and not continuing to any other city in Egypt

On arrival if required, tourist visa can be issued for Canadiian citizens for a maximum stay of 30 days by paying a visa fee of US$15.

Visa for longer stays must be obtained from the Embassy of Egypt in Ottawa or the Consulate of Egypt in Montreal.

As a Canadian passport holder, you dont have to obtain an entry visa from the Egyptian embassy in Canada, just book a seat, and obtain your Toursit visa from the Airport, it costs peanuts.
