In Egypt, I plan to take a Nile cruise from either Luxor to Aswan or Aswan to Luxor. I am aware there are quite a few Nile cruises plying between those 2 cities. I wanna make sure I arrive on the right day so that I dont miss the cruises. I am looking at doing the 3 or 4 night ones. Also is there a comprehensive website listing all the Nile Cruise companies? Is it cheaper to book the cruises in Luxor / Aswan itself or in advance? How much do they cost? If it is cheaper, are seats always available on the spot?

On which days of the week do Nile cruises depart Luxor and / or Aswan or do they leave everyday?

There are no seats, there are cabins like hotel rooms only. It’s a floating hotel and you should book it before you arrive. It’s not that easy to book directly.

4 nights from Luxor and 3 nights from Aswan.
Most of them sail sail Monday from Luxor and Friday from Aswan, but you few have different schedule.
The tours are almost the same for all cruises except few who make Dendera and Abydos which are not basic visits. The 4 nights/5 days is suitable to enjoy your time and the visits. If you can make the 7 nights, it’s the best.

Average cost per person will be about 100 to 180 USD/night – full board including the visits, entrance fees + Tour guide.

    Good luck

It is a must to reserve in advance as they are usually fully booked.
It is better to reserve it from your country via a tourist agency that will forward the request to a local tourist agency that they trust according to previous experiences.
