Avoid the summer months- too hot.
Cairo worth seeing for the pyramids and the museum.
Nile cruises are between Luxor and Aswan ( very good bookshop in Luxor your guide will direct you).
On the Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan you will stop off daily at various temples along the way – all worth seeing.
Don’t forget Abu Simbel at the southern end of Lake Nasser but try to get a boat cruise down to it and you stay there for a day
It is very impressive when approached from the lake but if you go by air or road from Aswan you only get about and hour there.

Egypt is still the number one tourist destination in the Middle East, and with good reason. From its world-class scuba diving, to the incredible once in a lifetime pyramids, to the lull of desert camping, the country has everything a trip should contain.

The best spot in cairo to buy books is Diwan bookstore.. it’s full of arabic, english and french books (dunno if there are books in other languages). There are also tapes, cds, dvds, albums, movies and souvenirs. You’ll probably find what you’re looking for there, wether you are an egyptian or non-egyptian.
