The power supply is not the issue, but they say in the guide book to use adaptors such as US RJ11 and universal AC. Can I get these in cairo, or where in the UK can I go?

Dont bother at all about the adaptor, it is the one you have. Here in the main electricity supply in the house, we have the same as yours except the earthing socket so we have 2 socket adaptors. My friend got his laptop from the UK and he is working fine with the default one which came with the laptop so dont worry about anything but if you want to buy any electricity related thing to laptops try going to Radioshack which has many branches in cairo.
Good luck and enjoy your stay
