If you have seen mirage what did you see? On holiday in Egypt we were crossing Sahara in a coach and our guide asked if we’d seen mirage? I was spitting mad because I had been asleep and missed this phenomenon!!

What exactly is a desert mirage?Does everyone see the same thing or can some see and others cannot?

A mirage is a naturally-occurring optical phenomenon, in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky
Like a mirror, a mirage shows images of things which are elsewhere. The principal physical cause of a mirage, however, is refraction rather than reflection.

A highway mirage (asphalt mirage, hot road mirage or road mirage) is an inferior mirage seen on roadways almost every day and night.

Yes , everybody see it, and if you want to see some pictures of the mirage just go to this link

I drive alot in the desert highway, about 300 km from any civilization.

I always see water in a distance, but all these are illusions. Except one thing: Police check points !!
