In history, my teacher said that the pyramids were topped with several tons of gold. I asked how the robbers were able to get the gold down from the tops, and she said she couldn’t find how they were removed anywhere. If someone could answer this with a page cite, I would really appreciate it.

    Er… they weren’t. Your teacher doesn’t know what she’s talking about (which is kind of scary when you think about it). Some were covered with white limestone though. Much of this was stolen to build other structures though.
