My wife and I plan on visiting Egypt in September. We are looking for a comfortable and reliable hotel to stay in Cairo and Hurghada.
It would be a plus if the hotel offers Internet access.

Thank you,

Which hotels would you advise to stay in Cairo and Hurghada, Egypt?

There are plenty of choices of accommodation in Cairo and Hurghada. But as you know hotels come in different levels of luxury and price. If you have a limitless budget there are an abundance of 5 star hotels, though many may not be considered 5star elsewhere.
That is not to say there are not some excellent hotels just that ,the best present is not always in the fanciest box.
Log on to The Lonely Planet site using keywords Egypt accommodation. Then just select which level ,budget to 5 star you are wanting to look at.
All the hotels recommended have been well vetted by secret travellers and businesses cannot buy their way to get a recommendation . Most of the hotels recommended have web links with photos and maps to the actual hotel as well, as the all important review of by Lonely Planet.
The procedure for screening tourism businesses is explained on the site.
Believe me if its not recommended there is a reason!
I am sure that you will find lots of options to select from choosing your hotel this way.
You can also forget the worry of not knowing if you are heading for a disaster zone that you have to share with "permanent tiny guests" etc.
I also recommend you get hold of The Lonely Planet Guide to Egypt, before you go and then don’t go out of the hotel with out it.
It’s invaluable for all sorts of advice.
Such as, where to go, how to get there, what to expect to pay and loads of travel assistance tips, plus maps of the suburbs and even an Arabic phrase section etc etc.
Remember to book early as September is one of the busiest months and this year bookings are at a record level. It seems every year more people are coming to Egypt and when you have been you will understand why!
Its amazing and so are the people.

Well, first congratulations on choosing the correct timing to visit Egypt. The weather is usually great in September. In Cairo, if ur after luxury, go for the Four Seasons or Grand Hyatt, or Conrad ( they all overlook the Nile, wow!). Less luxurious- I think- would be Hilton or Sheraton, given they are older.I think internet access would definitely be available.

As for Hurghada, well havent been there for a while, but I think u have a range of options, all equally pleasant. Lots of resorts ranging from 3 stars upwards.

    Enjoy ur stay!

Almost all 5 stars offers Internet access (WiFi) or has an Internet cafe at least.
Cairo : Mena House Oberoi, Hilton, Sheraton
Hurghada: Marriott, Grand Azur, Hilton Plaza

South to Hurghada : Le Meridien Makadi,
    Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh (luxury)

never been to hurghada, but in Cairo i would recommend the oberoi mena house if you like the idea of old world its an old palace/hunting lodge though it has been considerably extended i loved it but try and stay in the old building.
or the meridian (but get pyramid view room) also in giza its very lively or the movenpic giza. ( quieter) it has chalets in the gardens very pretty only draw back is the beds are hard, the 4 seasons is supposed to be very good never stayed there my self i am told its excelllent but very busy and the roads are very busy. I would not reccomend the sheraton in cairo i was on 14th floor traffic still woke me up. and i found it very impersonal. i enjoyed mena house best. have fun ohhh you will need air conditioning its still very hot in september. and most of the hotels offer a buissness suite with internet access.

the Oasis in Egypt is across from the Pyramids and have a beautiful view. I did not go to Hurghada so can’t help you there. But if you go to Luxor the Le Meriden is beautiful.
