HI,

Me and my boyfriend wish to book hol for 1-2 weeks in egypt end of August, first week of september but im struggling to find good deals.

With so many holiday companies around, i.e First Choice, Thomsons, On the Beach etc ive no idea where to start.

Any recommendations, also places to visit/stay in Egypt?

Thanks for your help!

xx

I have tried companies that are cheaper than Thomsons before and have gone running back to Thomsons. Their reps are the most helpful and actually do their job rather than sitting in a bar chatting to each other, their pick-ups etc are without hitches and the type of people who go with them are less loud and obnoxious than the type pf people who were on the cheap packages.

However, that has just been my experience but i wouldn’t go with any other company now.

hi,i went to egypt last september with first choice.
they are by far the best to go with.
if you go with thomson airtours or thomas cook you have no in flight
entertainment. on all of first choice planes you get your own screen in back of seat.
much needed for a 5 and a half hour flight.
they are also quite cheap and very freindly.
have a nice holiday you will love egypt.

Not sure if you want two weeks on a beach, or temples and Pharaohs, or both! I went with Voyages Jules Verne, who have an upmarket image but some truly amazing deals on Nile cruises. You can team them with a week on the beach at Sharm, in the north at Alexandria (which would be cooler at the end of August BTW) or even a nice hotel within sight of the Pyramids. Their prices may look higher than others, but make sure you check out the number of excursions on offer that are included; most cheap Nile cruises add these as extras. Absolute musts are Karnak temple complex, Valley of the Kings (ignore the crowds around tomb of King Tut and head for the tombs at the top of the valley – amazing) and Kom Ombu. I reckon Abu Simbel is over-rated by my partner loved it despite the three hour drive through the desert to get there.
